Gus Poyet hits out at Wednesday's opponents Stoke over their courtship of Sunderland players

Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has hit out at Wednesday's opponents Stoke over their courtship of Lee Cattermole and Steven Fletcher.

The teams meet at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League, with stories circulating that Stoke are preparing to make bid for the Sunderland duo.
Poyet insists the Potters have not been in touch though, and reckons the stories are a ploy to unsettle his team.
"I am pleased that in the local newspaper, we didn't throw any rumours about us being interested in any Stoke player, because that's what they have done for the last week," Poyet said.
"No-one from Stoke, directors or anyone from them, has made any formal approach or any offer, so for them to be linked with two very important players for us before the game is a little bit disappointing."
Stoke manager Mark Hughes has been linked with a move for Cattermole for several weeks, but admitted over the weekend that the Black Cats' progression to the Capital One Cup final made that unlikely.
Poyet added: "He didn't call me. Some people would say the manager normally would call to say when they want a player of the other team.
"But he didn't call me, of that I can assure you."
